JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Sam Houston completed the series sweep against Jax State with a 56-49 victory at Pete Matthews Coliseum on Thursday.
The Bearkats (11-11, 4-8 CUSA) secured their first Conference USA road win since joining the league in 2023, having previously defeated the Gamecocks 53-48 at home on Jan. 18.

The Gamecocks kept the pressure on in the second half, using a 14-2 run late in the third quarter to stay within reach. However, the Bearkats held their ground, sealing the win with a clutch 3-pointer from Whitney Dunn.
