WACO — Sam Houston fell 3-2 to North Texas on Sunday at the Baylor Invitational at Getterman Stadium.Â
The Bearkats (7-12) were winless at the tournament for their final nonconference weekend of the season. Sam Houston did flash some power, however.Â
Morgan Holliday smashed a two-run home run over the left field wall in the top of the third inning to put the Kats on the board, her first round tripper of the season. Â
The Mean Green answered quickly, scoring three runs in the bottom of the third, aided by an error by Kyla Heine to take the lead for good.Â
Amy Abke (2-5) took the loss, allowing three runs on six hits in three innings. Kendall Daniel pitched in relief but did not record a save opportunity.Â
Sam Houston will face East Texas A&M in Commerce on Tuesday for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. The game can be followed on StatBroadcast. Â
