HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston Bearkats will play host to Kennesaw State this weekend in a 3-game series, beginning Friday at Don Sanders Stadium.

Each game of the weekend can be watched on ESPN+ . It can be followed via Statbroadcast or by following @BearkatsBSB on Instagram and X.

It will be the first-ever meetings between the programs on the diamond, with Kennesaw State competing in CUSA for the first year after the Bearkats joined the league one season ago.

The Owls are just 13-19 overall and 4-5 in CUSA play, but caught the attention of the league when they took two of three from WKU to open the conference-play slate. The Bearkats, meanwhile, will be in search of their first series win of 2025.

Sam Houston will once again go with right-handers Noah Kendrick and Ryan Peterson as starters for the first two games before allowing the weekend to dictate Sunday's first arm. The pair have logged the most innings of any Bearkat arms in CUSA play with Peterson twice going 7.0 innings, including last week vs NM State when he struck out a career-high 10 batters.

The offense has gotten a boost of late from senior outfielder Brady Christensen who had been sidelined for multiple weeks with an injury before returning last week for the series vs NM State. He has delivered an extra-base hit in each of his four games back, which includes homers in each of his last two games and a game-winning, 3-run triple on Saturday vs the Aggies.
