HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston men's basketball squad continues to add firepower with the addition of the NAIA Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season, head coach Chris Mudge announced Wednesday afternoon.
Â
Kashie Natt, a 6-3 guard from LSU Alexandria, has signed with the Bearkats fresh off being named the Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches Small College Player of the Year.
Â
The two-time NAIA All-American had one of the most impressive seasons in school history a year ago. Natt, who is from Rayville, Louisiana, averaged a double-double with 19.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in 32 starts.
Â
Natt shot 47.7 percent from the floor, 30.6 percent from long range and 76.7 percent from the free-throw line. He finished the season ranked 32nd nationally in scoring and 12th in rebounding among all 237 NAIA basketball teams.
Â
After leading the Generals to the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Round of Eight, Natt also earned All-Red River Athletic Conference first-team accolades, RRAC Player of the Year and RRAC Defensive Player of the Year as LSUA went 31-3 on the season.
