DALLAS — The Sam Houston men's basketball team will once again open the 2025-26 Conference USA regular season on the road the league office announced Friday.
The Bearkats will face off against rival New Mexico State on Dec. 21 in Las Cruces to close out 2025 then head to Bowling Green to welcome the new year at Western Kentucky on Jan. 2. The road trip will conclude at Middle Tennessee on Jan. 4.
The Kats will face newcomer Delaware at home on Jan. 8 in the Blue Hens' first trip to Johnson Coliseum then Liberty comes to Huntsville on Jan. 10. Sam Houston hits the road to square off with Jax State on Jan. 14 and FIU in Miami on Jan. 17.
Home games with Kennesaw State and Western Kentucky are up next on Jan. 21 and Jan. 25 then a road game at fellow newcomer Missouri State on Jan. 28. The Kats say goodbye to January with a home game against Louisiana Tech on Jan. 31 and hello to February when UTEP comes to Huntsville for the final time on Feb. 4.
Sam Houston turns right around and plays at LA Tech on Feb. 7 then there is a small break in action until another road game at Kennesaw State on Feb. 14. The Bearkats play four straight home games against Middle Tennessee (Feb. 18), Jax State (Feb. 21), FIU (Feb. 26) and Missouri State (Feb. 28).
The regular season wraps up with road games at Delaware on March 5 and at Liberty on March 7 before heading back to Huntsville, Alabama for the CUSA Championships.
