MADISON, Wisc. – The Sam Houston women's golf team placed ninth in the Badger Invitational at University of Wisconsin Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Bearkats shot 16-over par in the final round as they ended the day with +37 over 54 holes.
Francesca Sumcad had four birdies in the final round, capping her week with a round of 70 after initial rounds of 74-72 to finish at even par for the week, finishing in a tie for 10th.
Amelia Guo finished tied for 28th at seven over with three birdies and 73-76-74 on her scorecard for the week.
In the end, Illinois took the team title, finishing -16 overall. The next closest team to Illinois was Delaware shooting even, followed by WKU (+3) and Bradley (+11).
Bomyeong Lee shot 74-74-79 with a birdie in the final round placing 44th individually.
Victoria Renzi finished 72nd overall with 79-79-81 on her scorecard.
Shanna Sandoval came in just one place behind her, shooting 75-81-84.
The Bearkats will be in action again next week in the 2025 Red Raider Invitational at The Rawls Course in Lubbock.
The tournament will begin Tuesday, September 23, and is hosted by Texas Tech.
