Tennis notches first win of spring season

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Sam Houston women's tennis team swept all seven singles matches and won the doubles point to earn a 7-0 victory over Alcorn Friday afternoon.
The pair battled at the Hall's Ferry Tennis Center.
Aaliyah Hohmann and Ana Maria Kurtsikashvili teamed for a 4-3 victory in the number one position, Nayuma Subba and Christine Jevicky earned a 6-1 win at number two and Sara Sadadinovic and Ella Fitcher also posted a 6-1 victory at number three for the doubles point.
Sam Houston won five of the Kats' six singles matches in straight sets and took the number two singles in three frames. The team will complete its two-match trip to Mississippi Saturday versus Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
