Kats in fourth at weather delayed second round of CUSA Championships

FRISCO – The Sam Houston women's golf team battled weather delays Tuesday at the CUSA Championships, sitting in fourth place at 20-over par with most of the field through 15–18 holes of the second round at Stonebriar Country Club.
Play was suspended due to rain and later darkness, with the remainder of the second round set to resume Wednesday morning at 7:45 a.m.
The Bearkats hold a one-stroke edge over FIU and Middle Tennessee and lead Jacksonville State by four strokes. Western Kentucky tops the leaderboard at 8-over par, while Delaware and New Mexico State are tied for second at 19-over.
Bomyeoung Lee and Pureum Kim pace Sam Houston, tied for 11th at 5-over par. Both recorded two birdies across rounds of 73 and 76, with Lee finding success on the front nine and Kim spreading her birdies across both rounds.
Isabelle Hurrion and Amelia Guo are close behind, tied for 17th at 6-over. Hurrion carded two birdies in each round for scores of 74-76, while Guo added a birdie on the 15th hole and will complete her second round Wednesday.
Francesca Sumcad rounds out the Bearkats' scoring in 37th at 11-over, highlighted by four birdies in her second round en route to a 76 after opening with a 79.
The second round will conclude Wednesday morning, followed by the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard by Clippd, with streaming on ESPN+.
