
Bearkat trio earn All-CUSA Honors

DALLAS – Sam Houston golfers Amelia Guo, Francesca Sumcad and Isabelle Hurrion were each named to the All-Conference USA team Thursday, according to a release from league officials.
Guo collected first-team All-CUSA honors for the second time in her career while also earning All-Academic second-team recognition for the second straight season. The Biomedical Sciences major carries a 3.77 GPA and posted three top-15 finishes early in the year at the Red Raider Invitational, Prairie Dunes Women's Collegiate and Dale McNamara Invitational. She capped the season with a tie for sixth place at the CUSA Championships at 5-over par, moving her to No. 325 in the national rankings.
Sumcad and Hurrion each earned second-team All-CUSA honors in their first seasons with the Bearkats. Sumcad climbed to No. 384 nationally after recording two top-10 finishes, including a 10th-place showing at the Badger Invitational and a third-place finish at the Red Raider Invitational.
Hurrion ranks No. 495 nationally after competing in six tournaments this season. She placed 22nd at the Betsy Rawls Invitational and closed out the season finishing 21st at the CUSA Championships.
