Sam Houston and Snapback Sports are excited to announce a partnership that will feature the Snapback Sports logo on the football jerseys for the 2026 season.
Â
Snapback Sports, based out of New York City, is a sports media company for the next generation of sports fans, creating engaging content across social media platforms that reach more than 1 million followers.  It began as a Snapchat-focused account and has grown into a multi-platform brand that covers sports news, commentary, behind-the-scenes material, podcasts, and fan-focused event experiences.
"We're so excited to come together with Sam Houston to put a new mark on Bearkat football," said Jack Settleman, founder and CEO of Snapback Sports. "Our goal is to make Sam Houston the internet's favorite football team, so when we realized they'd be on the ESPN Family of Networks 4x in October, it confirmed they were the perfect match. What's most important to us at Snapback Sports is our community, so we can't wait to meet all of y'all. Eat Em Up Kats!"
The jersey patch partnership is the first for Sam Houston Athletics after the NCAA announced this year they were opening this new revenue stream for all programs across all sports beginning this August. Van Wagner, Sam Houston Athletics' multimedia rights partner, assisted in the development and negotiation of this first-of-its-kind partnership for the Bearkats.Â
"Agreements like this take the whole university community and I really appreciate everyone's effort to make this happen," said Director of Athletics Bobby Williams. "We always talk about finding partners that align with our vision for the university. Snapback Sports is exactly the type of company we are talking about. You can see the passion and excitement they have for Sam Houston and helping to advance our university brand to a new audience."Â
Snapback Sports began as a Snapchat-focused account in 2017 and has grown into a multi-platform brand that covers sports news, commentary, behind-the-scenes material, podcasts, and fan-focused event experiences looking to document the best sports experiences in the world.Â
In addition to a popular sports trivia app, Snapback Sports is known for Snapback Saturdays, Snapback Sports' college-football road-trip content series. Settleman and the team travel to campuses to experience—not simply report on—the rivalries, student sections, tailgates, traditions, and game-day atmosphere, then share behind-the-scenes coverage on social platforms and YouTube. As part of the partnership, the Snapback Sports team will visit Bowers Stadium and document the atmosphere and excitement of a fall gameday in Huntsville.
"I'm looking forward to what this partnership will bring, not only for the football program, but the exposure this will bring to our entire department and university," Williams said.
The Bearkats, winners of the 2024 New Orleans Bowl, will kick off the season on Sept. 5 at Troy before returning to Bowers Stadium on Sept. 12 to take on Tulsa. The 2026 season features 12 regular season games with the potential for up two additional games with the Conference USA Championship Game and Bowl game. Right now, five games are currently scheduled for national television broadcasts, including three on ESPN2, one on ESPNU and one on CBS Sports Network. The remaining games will all be covered by ESPN+ and the ESPN Family of Networks. Â
