Keyan Williams enters his second season as Sam Houston’s wide receivers coach in 2026 after joining head coach Phil Longo’s staff in 2025.
Williams arrived in Huntsville after spending two seasons working with the wide receivers on Eli Drinkwitz’s staff at Missouri. The Tigers compiled a 21-5 record during his tenure, winning the Cotton Bowl following the 2023 season and the Music City Bowl following the 2024 season.
At Missouri, Williams assisted with a receiving corps featuring Luther Burden III and Theo Wease Jr. Burden earned second-team All-America recognition in 2023 and first-team All-SEC honors in both seasons before being selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Burden and Wease each surpassed 600 receiving yards in both 2023 and 2024.
Before Missouri, Williams coached wide receivers at Missouri Southern from 2021-22. In his first season, Brian Boyd Jr. earned All-MIAA recognition after recording 45 receptions for 811 yards and seven touchdowns. Jaedon Stoshak added 34 catches for 365 yards and three scores.
Williams previously served as an offensive graduate assistant at Tulane in 2020, working on Willie Fritz’s staff. He began his coaching career at Wayne State College in 2019, where his receivers combined for 141 catches, 1,838 yards and 13 touchdowns.
As a player, Williams competed at Fresno State, Nebraska and Ball State. He began his collegiate career with the Bulldogs, redshirting in 2014 before appearing in five games in 2015.
Williams transferred to Nebraska in 2016 and earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in 2017. He also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2017 and 2018.
He completed his playing career at Ball State in 2018, appearing in six games and recording six receptions.
A native of New Orleans, La., Williams was a two-time team captain at Lusher High School, where he established career records for total yards and touchdowns. He earned all-district recognition and offensive MVP honors as both a junior and senior.
Williams earned his degree from Nebraska in 2018. He is the son of veteran collegiate and NFL coach Keith Williams, who currently coaches wide receivers for the New Orleans Saints.
