Kevin Russell joined Sam Houston State University in July 2018, as a graduate assistant.

He was hired as a full-time athletic trainer in September 2019 and is primarily responsible for providing medical coverage to the Men’s Basketball and Women’s Tennis teams.

He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Texas Athletic Training Board and is an approved CAATE Clinical Preceptor.

The San Antonio Native comes from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi where he received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in the Spring of 2018. Russell currently resides in Huntsville.
