HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston is finally returning to Johnson Coliseum for the Conference USA home opener against Delaware on Thursday.

Tipoff for the game is set for 6:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN+. The game can also be heard online on the Bearkat Sports Network with Carlos Zimmermann on the call.

The Kats are 0-3 in CUSA play with all three losses coming on the road at NM State, Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State.

Jacob Walker and Jacoby Coleman have made immediate impact for Sam Houston as true freshmen this season. Walker is averaging 8.3 points per game, just ahead of Coleman at 8.2. They are the top freshman scoring duo in CUSA this season, averaging a combined 16.5 PPG.

Kashie Natt is one of the best pickpockets in the country this season. He is currently tied for 26th in the nation in steals per game with 2.3 which also leads CUSA. The CUSA single season record is 3.39 set by Oliver Lafayette from Houston during the 2005-06 season.

ANOTHER DOUBLE-DOUBLE PLEASE
Veljko Ilic has been a force inside for the Bearkats this season especially the past two games. He scored 16 points in both losses at WKU and MTSU this past weekend. He added 12 and 13 rebounds, respectively to post back-to-back double-doubles for the first time this season. The 6-10 transfer is now averaging 10.1 points and 7.2 boards per game.
