Trevon Jones joined the Sam Houston Sports Medicine Staff in December 2023, overseeing activities for the Bearkat men's basketball and women's tennis teams. Prior to Sam Houston he worked with the DeSoto High School Sports Medicine team as an athletic trainer where he was on the sidelines for the Eagles' 2022 6A-D2 state championship run in football. He also had two more state runs in the same year with the DeSoto boys basketball and girls track & field teams.
Prior to DHS, he was the sole Athletic trainer at Atlanta High School located in Atlanta, Texas.
While pursuing his career in athletic training he received his Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin in May 2020. There he had the opportunity to work with the women's basketball program. His time at SFA came after his graduation from Sam Houston in May 2018 with his Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. As a student trainer he was was able to be a part of two conference championships with the Bearkat football team and four conference championships with track & field teams.
A native of Palestine, Texas, Jones graduated from Palestine High School in 2014.
In addition to being licensed by the State of Texas and certified by the BOC to practice Athletic Training, Jones also holds certifications in Dry Needling and Graston Therapy.
