Orme was added to the Bearkat staff in June 2026 and arrived in Huntsville after serving as pitching coach at Charleston Southern where she led the development of the Buccaneers' pitching staff while also working closely with the program's catchers. In addition to her work with the battery, she played an integral role in recruiting, scouting, game preparation, practice planning, bullpen development and individualized player development.
Known for her holistic approach to coaching, Orme has established a reputation for developing student-athletes both on and off the field. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes the mental side of the game, helping athletes build confidence, resilience, self-awareness, preparation habits and a competitive mindset. Through individualized mentorship and relationship-driven coaching, she has invested heavily in the personal and athletic growth of her players.
Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Orme enjoyed an illustrious collegiate career spanning both the Mountain West and Big 12 conferences. Widely regarded as one of the nation's premier pitchers during her playing days, she established herself as a dominant force in the circle while competing at Fresno State and Baylor.
During her collegiate career, Orme accumulated more than 400 innings pitched, over 300 strikeouts, 28 career shutouts and 11 complete games while competing against some of the nation's top programs. Her standout 2023 campaign at Baylor included the program's first seven-inning perfect game against Stephen F. Austin and a no-hitter against nationally ranked Maryland. She also played a pivotal role in Baylor's victory over then-No. 1 Oklahoma.
Among her numerous accolades, Orme earned NFCA First Team All-Region honors and All-Big 12 Second Team recognition in 2023 after being named NFCA National Pitcher of the Week. She was a three-time Big 12 Player of the Week selection and earned NFCA All-Region honors twice during her career. Entering the 2024 season, she was recognized nationally as a member of the USA Softball Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List.
A graduate of Baylor, Orme earned bachelor's degrees in corporate communication and sociology before completing a Master of Arts in Theology of Sport.Â
