Aryiell Robinson will be entering her first season as an assistant coach at Sam Houston. 
 
Robinson spent the previous three seasons on Ty Evans' staff at Tennessee State University. During her time there the team ranked in the top five nationally among NCAA Division I schools in forced turnovers per game (’22,’24) and in steals per game and total steals (’22). At Tennessee State she coached the 2021-2022 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the year, two All Ohio Valley Conference First Team members, one All Ohio Valley Conference Second Team member, and two All Newcomer Team members. The team also ranked in the top five nationally among NCAA Division I schools in forced turnovers per game (’22,’24) and in steals per game and total steals (’22). 
 
Prior to arriving at TSU, Robinson was head coach at William Woods University. Robinson had a standout season to begin her collegiate head coaching career. William Woods went 25-7 and despite falling in the semifinals of the American Midwest Conference Championship, the team earned an automatic bid to the 2020 NAIA National Championship. Unfortunately, the championship was canceled due to COVID, but the team finished ranked 25th in the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The following season the Owls went 5-12 on the season in AMC play. Their season ended after falling in the AMC Tournament Quarterfinals to Lyon College. Robinson coached two All-Americans, three All AMC players, one All-Freshman Team member, and the AMC Defensive Player of the Year. She also had nine players earn academic all-conference honors.  


Robinson went to William Woods University after spending three years as an assistant for Lindenwood University. Robinson helped lead the team to the program's first MIAA Conference Tournament Championship (’18). The Lions had back-to-back 20-plus win seasons in her final two years and went to back-to-back NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances (’18, ’19). At Lindenwood University she helped develop the Freshman of the Year, four All-Conference Team members, three All-Conference Tournament performers, the conference tournament Most Outstanding Player, and one Second Team All-Region Performer.
 
Other stops for Robinson included one year at Southeastern Louisiana University, and three years at Angelina College, where they also had a 20-win season.
 
Robinson began her playing career in 2007 at Fairfield University where the team posted a 22-9 record. She then transferred to Labette Community College where Robinson helped led the team to a 22-10 record averaging 13.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists. She was also named Second Team All-Conference. She finished her playing career at Saint Louis University from 2009-2011. Robinson appeared in 59 games throughout her career at Saint Louis. In her senior season she average 6.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
 
Robinson earned her Master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2016. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2011 and her Associate's in Science: Physical Education in 2009.
