HUNTSVILLE - NCAA Division 1-A Northeast Louisiana had to drive 69 yards and score a touchdown with just 15 seconds left to hold off the Bearkats. Chris James, in his first game as a starter, passed for 261 yards and two touchdowns including a 53-yard scoring strike to Joey Mouton to put SHSU up 31-27 with 3:23 to play. The Bearkat special teams blocked a punt for a touchdown and a field goal. Punt returns of 83 and 50 yards by Mike Mitchell set up Northeast Louisiana scores in the second half.
