All-Lone Star Conference first team honors and helped lead the 1942 and 1946 Bearkats to Lone Star Conference runner-up finishes. Holds the school for most punts in one game with an incredible total of 31 set in a 0-0 tie with East Texas State on a muddy field in 1946.

LINDA LOWRY
Lowery is one of the pioneers in women's athletics in Texas. As a Bearkat, she played for a state championship volleyball team and won the national badminton championship. After earning both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Sam Houston she became a successful coach, teacher and administrator at the University of Texas and Concordia University in Austin.


DR. CARLA LOWRY -- Inducted 2011

Hired in 1967 to organize and coach the Sam Houston's inaugural women's volleyball and basketball teams ,,, directed the Bearkats to TAIAW state titles in both sports ... later coached and served as athletic administrator at UT-Arlington and Southwestern University
