Senior Cynthia Yarotsky again led the Bearkats to a victory on the road as Sam Houston State swept Nicholls State in three games Saturday afternoon, winning 30-21 30-21 30-28.

Yarotksy totaled 18 kills to account for almost half of Sam Houston State total of 40 kills. The Bearkats made only 15 errors in the hour and 26 minute match.

Katie Phillips added eight killls, Laura McClung had five, and Brittanie Wallace and Sarah Hazlewood each totaled four.

The Bearkats dominated the match from start to finish, trailing only once in the first game and four times in both the second and third stanzas. The Sam Houston State defense totaled seven blocks with McClung leading the way with four.

The victory lifted Sam Houston State's season mark to 11-11. SHSU stands 5-4 in Southland Conference action. Nicholls State dropped to 8-17 for the year and 2-7 in Southland play.

Sam Houston State travels to play defending league champion Stephen F. Austin Tuesday in Nacogdoches, then returns home Friday and Saturday for matches with Lamar and McNeese State.
