Cynthia Yarotsky and Brittanie Wallace each totaled 11 kills to lead Sam Houston State as the Bearkats fell in three games in a Southland Conference volleyball match with Texas State-San Marcos Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (10-6, SLC 3-1) handed SHSU its second Southland loss by a score of 30-17 30-16 30-25.

After two early lead changes in the second game, Texas State-San Marcos again got a lead, jumping up 18-8. Again, the Kats could not cut the margin to less than eight.

The third game, however, was tight with eight tie scores and five lead changes. At 19-19, however, the Bobcats won four straight points. Sam Houston got no closer than three points as Texas State-San Marcos sealed the victory.

The Bearkats next home match is Friday, Oct. 12, against defending Southland Conference champion Stephen F. Austin State.
