SAN MARCOS -- Haley Thomas and Brittanie Wallace each had six kills to lead Sam Houston State as the Bearkat volleyball team lost to Texas State-San Marcos in the Kats' second Southland Conference match of the season.
The Bobcats won in four sets by scores of 25-14 25-10 16-25 25-19. Texas State-San Marcos totaled 49 kills to 32 for Sam Houston.
Lawrencia Brown led the Bobcats with 12 kills.
Texas State-San Marcos upped its season mark to 9-11 with the victory. The Bobcats stand 2-1 in Southland Conference action. Sam Houston State lost its fifth match in a row and stands 5-13 for the year and 0-2 in Southland Conference play.
Sam Houston State travels to Texas-Arlington for its next Southland Conference match Saturday.
