Soccer shut out by Demons 4-0

NATCHITOCHES, LA -- Kayle Schultz assisted on one goal and scored another to lead Northwestern State to a 4-0 Southland Conference women's soccer victory at Demon Field Friday night.

The loss dropped Sam Houston State to 2-4 in league play. The Bearkats stand 7-6 on the year. The Demons upped their record to 9-6-1 for the season and 4-2 in Southland. Northwestern State remained in fourth place in the SLC standings with the win.

Schultz found Kayla King open for Northwestern State's first goal at the 14:51 mark. Just before halftime, Hannah Casey scored on a pass from Sally Sadler at 42:06.

Schultz scored unassisted at the 70:47 and April Madden punched in a goal off a rebound at 86:21 for the final Demon tally.

Sam Houston State totaled 14 shots while Northwestern State had 13.

Raquel Bueno led the Bearkats with four shots. Two of Bueno's scoring attempts were saved by the Demon goalkeeper.

Sam Houston State continues its weekend Southland road trip Sunday afternoon when the Kats face Central Arkansas in Conway at 1 p.m.
