Josh Hawkins wins 5000 meters at Texas Tech Indoor

Josh Hawkins placed first in the 5,000 meters to highlight action for the Sam Houston State men at the Texas Tech Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet Saturday in Lubbock.
Hawkins won with a time of 15 minutes, 25.47 seconds. The event was the third indoor track and field meet of the 2008 season for the Bearkats.
Chris Cralle was third in the weight throw with a mark of 52 feet, 4.5 inches. Travis Matthews was third and Austin Matthews eighth in the pole vault with marks of 16 feet, 2.75 inches and 15 feet, 3.0 inches, respectively.
Taylor Ray placed sixth in the mile run with a season high performance of four minutes, 20.36 seconds.
