Bearkats compete at UTEP, Rice meet

Chris Cralle highlighted action for the Bearkat men at the UTEP Spring Invitational Saturday, posting NCAA regional qualifying marks in both the hammer and the discus.
Cralle threw the hammer a school record 192 feet, 10 inches to finish third. His second place discus throw went 179 feet, six inches.
Austin Matthews and Travis Matthews each tied for third place in the pole vault with marks of 16 feet, 0.75 inches. Jon Tipton was third in the discus (167' 10”) and Lane Dennis and Michael Courtney produced fifth place finishes in the 400 hurdles (54.09) and 400 meters (47.33), respectively.
Taylor Ray led the men at the Rice Bayou Classic with a fourth place finish in the 5,000 meters (14:56.40).
