Ryan Bright receives another post-season honor

Ryan Bright of Sam Houston State has been honored by College Insider.Com as a 2008 NCAA Division I Mid-Major All-American.
Bright led Sam Houston State to a 23-8 record in 2008, the Bearkats' third consecutive 20-plus victory season. He led the Southland Conference and ranked No. 8 nationally in NCAA Division I basketball in rebounding with 10.9 boards per game. Bright also ranked in the top 20 in the Southland Conference in four other categories.
He led the 2008 Bearkats in scoring with 11.7 points per game, totaling double figures in 22 games. Bright completed his four-year Sam Houston State career ranked No. 3 among the university's all-time rebounders with 967 boards and No. 7 in SHSU career scoring with 1,429 points.
Bright was an National Association of College Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Region selection and first team All-Southland Conference choice. Bright, an outstanding student as well with a 3.57 overall grade point average in kinesiology, was recognized as both Academic All-America and All-Region by ESPN The Magazine.
