Bearkat women win six events at Ty Terrell Track

BEAUMONT ? Five Bearkats won individual events and Tiana Lee, Jessica Fisher, Dess Meek, and Regina Offord combined for a victory in the 4x100 relay to highlight action for the Sam Houston State women at the Ty Terrell Track and Field meet Thursday, hosted by Lamar University.
The 4x100 relay posted a time of 47.57 to win the event.
Fisher won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.75. Meek took first place in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 2.5 inches. Dakota Stewart won the 800 meter run with a mark of 2:23.32. Whitney Rister placed first in the 3,000 meter run with a clocking of 10:55.07. Jasmine Mitchell won the triple jump, going 36 feet, 0.75 inches.
Offord (11.84) was runner-up in the 100 meters. Desiree Taylor finished second in the 200 meter dash with a 24.89 clocking. Lee was runner-up in the 100 meter hurdles (13.75). Karen Klintoe was the runner-up in the pole vault.
