Soccer falls 6-0 at SFA Friday

NACOGDOCHES - Megan Cash became the seventh player to score a hat trick against the Sam Houston State women's soccer team as she led Stephen F. Austin to a 6-0 victory over the Bearkats Friday night.
Cash scored in the 31st, 54th and 61st minutes. The last hat trick given up by Sam Houston was to Babs Birgisdottir of TCU in 2005.
Kim Kimmel tallied the first Lumberjack goal in the 21st minute. Laura Sadler scored two goals.
SFA totaled 18 shots while Sam Houston State had nine. Amanda Biega led the Bearkat offense with three shots.
The loss drops Sam Houston to 5-7-2 for the year. The Bearkats now stand 3-2 in Southland Conference action.
Stephen F. Austin evened its season record at 7-7. The Lumberjacks are 4-1 in league play.
Sam Houston State will play its final non-conference match of the season Sunday at 11 a.m. against Utah Valley. The contest will be played at Pritchett Field.
