DALLAS -- Tyler Lundy's RBI single in the second inning provided the only run for Sam Houston State as the Bearkats fell to Dallas Baptist in a road non-conference baseball game Tuesday night.
Patriots pitcher Victor Black (4-1) gave up only four hits in seven innings, striking out 11 Bearkats as Dallas Baptist upped their season record to 16-7.
Sam Houston State fell to 15-11 for the year. Justin Keithley, Mark Wyatt, Ryan Mooney and Lundy each had one hit for the Bearkats. Mooney doubled in the second inning and scored on Lundy's single.
Dallas Baptist jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a solo home run by Ryan Enos and a two run single by Trevor Head in the first inning. The Patriots added another run in the third inning.
Sam Houston State now heads to Lake Charles, LA, for a weekend Southland Conference series with McNeese. The first game will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
