HUNTSVILLE -- After a week where the Sam Houston State baseball team knocked off No. 8 Rice and swept the Southland Conference opening weekend series from Texas-Arlington, the Bearkats are back in the national discussion.
This week, the Kats have been mentioned as one of the teams receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 30 poll. It is the third time this season SHSU has appeared, after getting votes in the preseason poll and then following their opening weekend four-game sweep of Creighton.
The Kats are now 10-4 this season and 3-0 in Southland Conference play. They will head to Houston on Tuesday to take on University of Houston and then will be back home on Wednesday to host Texas Southern. This weekend, the Bearkats will be on the road when they play at Texas State.
