Cralle, Courtney among winners at Ty Terrell

BEAUMONT ? Another school record performance by Chris Cralle in the hammer was the showcase performance for the Bearkat men in the Ty Terrell Relays this weekend.
Cralle threw 215 feet to win the hammer. His throw is the sixth best mark in NCAA Division I men's track and field this spring. The mark ranks No. 2 in the NCAA Midwest Region.
Michael Courtney won the 400 meter dash with a time of 46.81. Jay Newman placed first in the 400 meter hurdles with a mark of 52.82 seconds. Chris Nelson leaped 6' 8” to win the high jump.
Three Bearkats finished as event runners-up with Matt Johnson (14' 6”) in the pole vault, Chris Gilchrist (23' 10”) in the long jump and John Thomas (14.42 seconds) in the 110 meter hurdles.
Matthew Johnson, Leon Banks, Clint Anders and Logan Miller teamed to place third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:25.14.
