Bearkat track and field at Texas Relays

AUSTIN -- Chris Cralle placed third in the hammer, Jon Tipton won the discus and the Bearkats had two runners final in the hurdles to highlight action for Sam Houston State this weekend at the 2009 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Cralle threw more than 200 feet for the second time in three tries, finishing third in the hammer with a mark of 205' 7". Marcel Lomnicky of Virigina Tech won the event with a 235' 3" and Walt Henning of LSU was second at 208' 7".
Tipton won the University B discus with a throw of 182' 7".
Lane Dennis and Tiana Lee finaled in the men's and women's 400 meter hurdles, respectively. Dennis placed sixth in the event with a time of 51.58 in the finals. He ran 52.10 in qualifying. Lee was second in qualifying with a 59.37 mark but placed eighth in the finals with a time of 1:02.42.
Sam Houston's women's sprint medley relay team of Tiana Lee, Desiree Taylor, Jessica Fisher and Devyn Mitchell finished seventh with a mark of 4)01.82.
