Sam Houston trailed only 10-8 in the first set before the Cardinals went on a 9-2 run to go up 19-10 and roll to a 25-15 first set margin. The Bearkats trailed 19-18 late in the second set but Lamar went on a 6-3 run to go up two sets to none.
The Bearkats rallied for a third set victory and looked in position to even the match at two sets apiece. But Lamar bounced back to close the contest out in four.
