
Bowling wins two on first day at Ozark Invt.

The Sam Houston State bowling team won two out of five Baker matches on the first day of the Great Ozark Invitational being hosted Friday through Sunday by the University of Central Missouri.
Arkansas State went 5-0 in Friday's competition.
Valparaiso was 4-1, Central Missouri, Prairie View A&M and Minnesota State all were 3-2 while Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Southern University compiled 2-3 marks.
Louisiana Tech was 1-4 and Elmhurst lost all five matches.
Sam Houston totaled 4300 pins in the competition. Arkansas led all teams with 4671 pins.
Five teams ranked among the top 20 in the nation are competing in the Greater Ozark Invitational. The quintet consists of No. 5 UCM, No. 6 Arkansas State, No. 11 Valparaiso, No. 17 Minnesota State-Mankato and No. 20 Louisiana Tech. The 10-team competition runs through Sunday at Enterprise Park in Springfield.
The Bearkats were the first team listed in the also receiving points category ahead of a pair of other Texas schools, Stephen F. Austin and Prairie View A&M.
