
Bowling finishes as runner-up at Ozark Invt.

Falling to Arkansas State in the finals, the Sam Houston women's bowling team finished second in Sunday's Baker match play event on the last day of the 2010 Greater Ozark Invitational hosted by Central Missouri in Springfield, Mo.
The 10-team competition was held at Enterprise Park in Springfield.
Arkansas State won the final 4-2. The Bearkats had defeated ASU 4-2 in the opening round Sunday then fell to Elmhurst 4-0 before the final match.
Host Central Missouri placed third in Sunday's match play, followed by Minnesota State, Valparaiso, Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin, Prairie View A&M, Southern and Elmhurst.
Overall in the complete team standings for the three-day event, Sam Houston placed third behind Arkansas State and Central Missouri.
Arkansas State went 12-1 during the tournament while Central Missouri and Sam Houston both posted 8-5 records.
Sam Houston's Dayna Galganski finished ninth in the voting for the Greater Ozark Invitational all-tournament team.
Neishka Cardona posted the tournament's ninth best pin average of 192.6. Galganski averaged 185.2 pins to rank 18th in the individual standings.
Highlight of the tournament was Saturday's play when the Bearkats went undefeated in five matches including a 945-912 victory over host team Central Missouri, the No. 5 rated team nationally. Sam Houston also downed No. 17 Minnesota State 973-809.
In the other three matches during Saturday's competition, the Kats defeated Prairie View A&M 860-820, Elmhurst 880-845 and Southern University 892-769.
Sam Houston started the tournament on Friday going 2-3 in five Baker matches.
