Loving, Hawkins earn academic all-league

Loving, a finance major from Houston Cy-Springs who boasts a 3.62 overall grade point average, started every match for the Bearkats this fall. She ranked No. 4 in the Southland in assists (9.52) and No. 6 in service aces per set (0.30). She totaled double figure digs in eight matches.
The junior setter stands No. 8 in Sam Houston career assists with 2,646 and has posted 24 matches in her career with double digit digs and assists. She is a Golden Key International and Beta Gamma Sigmna (national business honor society) member and has been named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Hawkins, an accounting major from Dickinson who holds a 3.34 overall grade point average, earned All-Southland Conference honorable mention honors as a sophomore. She started 20 matches at outside hitter and played in 12 others as the Bearkats' libero.
Hawkins posted nine double figure kill performances including season best of 17 and had 24 double figure dig matches including season high of 33. Hawkins, an All-Southland first team as true freshman, is a Dean's List student.
