Mikulin wins dual Southland softball honor

A native of Huntsville, Texas, Mikulin was as dominant on the mound as she was at the plate as she led the Bearkats to a 5-0 record last week.
Mikulin swung a team-leading .429 average, had six hits, including three doubles and drove in three RBI. On the mound, she recorded a perfect 5-0 record with a 1.72 ERA and had 15 strikeouts in 20.1 innings.
This week's hitter honorable mentions are Central Arkansas junior Shayleen Ristau, UT Arlington senior Heather Fortenberry and Texas State junior Jenna Emery.
Pitching honorable mentions are Texas A&M-Corpus Christi senior Margo Hurdt and Texas State freshman Anne Marie Taylor. To receive an honorable mention, a player must receive votes from 25 percent of the Southland softball sports information directors.
Sam Houston will play host to North Dakota State Wednesday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Bearkat Softball Complex
