Cummins has excelled on the lanes and in the class room posting a 3.8 GPA and finishing her high school bowling career with one of the top three averages in the state of Texas.
"Lisa brings passion, enthusiasm, and a very competitive nature to the team which I truly believe will be a valuable asset to our success," said head coach Brad Hagen. "Her work ethic on and off the lanes is a standard that'll easily be carried over to the collegiate ranks and in to this team. I think she is truly a diamond in the rough."
Among being one of the top women's prospects in the state of Texas this year, Cummins added an impressive 2009-2010 Dallas-Texas State High School Bowling Regional title to her resume before moving on to states where she qualified for the semi finals as a 6th seed overall, added a top 10 finish overall as an individual and earned a 2nd place Texas State High School Championship finish with her Allen High School team.
Cummins joins Kimi Davidson, from Azle, as the first two athletes to sign with the SHSU women's bowling program.
The Bearkats will begin competing this coming fall.
