Bowling adds pair from New York

Shaina Woolbaugh from Kirkwood, New York and Kaylin Grannis from Horseheads, New York will join the Bearkats next fall.
Woolbaugh has posted a strong 3.5 high school GPA and ranks among the top 20 percent in her class.
"Shaina's determination and willingness to learn, adapt, and retain information will be a very key asset to her success and is one of her very strong attributes," said head coach Brad Hagen.
Woolbaugh's years of bowling experiences are not that as most for her age but her competitive resume and nature is of a seasoned veteran. This All-Star/All Conference player of the year and Varsity Captain has been leading the way for her Windsor Central High School team for the last three years and doing so impressively.
This year alone she posted the fourth highest average in the Southern Tier (Section 4) which is one of the most competitive sections in the state of New York, the highest series and individual game at team sectionals, and locally qualified second at regional's for the New York State Scholarship Tournament to be held later this month.
Grannis brings in a solid 3.0 high school GPA and a great work ethic on and off the lanes.
"I'm very happy to have had a chance to recruit from my back yard and give an excellent opportunity to an individual who's come out of a system such as section four in New York knowing that it is by far one of the most competitive sections in the state," Hagen said. "Grannis' experiences, knowledge, and contributions will be a great addition."
The last several years for Grannis have been very successful posting back to back single championships at the Ryan Shaffer Tournament 2008 and 2009, a first place finish this last December at the Waverly NYS High School Tournament, a season high and personal best of 298/765 series in 2009-2010.
She rounded off her high school career with a Section 4 Team Title with Horseheads High School, All Conference, All Leader, Major Bowler of the Year Honors, along with a third-place overall individual honors at the 2010 New York State High School State Championships.
