San Marcos -- Tatyanna Postnikova, Sheridan Currie and Nadya Dudyanskaya each won their singles matches for Sam Houston in a 4-3 women's tennis dual match loss to Texas State Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats, who came into the match in third place in the Southland Conference, won the doubles point and took singles matches at the number one, five and six positions. The Bearkats had to default the number three doubles and number six singles due to an injury to Frederica Denti.
Postnikova defeated Melissa Hadad 6-3, 6-3 at number two, Currie won over Gabriela Rojas 6-1, 6-2 and Dudbyanskaya knocked off Mariana Perez 6-1 6-3. Postnikova and Giorgia Pozzan teamed to win the number one doubles pro set.
Texas State upped its season record to 11-5 and now stand 7-2 in Southland play. Sam Houston dropped to 6-9 for the year and 5-3 in league action.
