Andreas, Riley, Hudson named All-Southland

Chris Andreas, Braeden Riley and Mark Hudson of Sam Houston State all have been named to the 2010 All-Southland Conference baseball team announced Monday.
Andreas, junior designated hitter from Brenham, is a first team selection. Riley, a junior second baseman, has named to the second team. Hudson, a junior outfielder from Victoria, is an honorable mention selection on the 2010 honor squad. Andreas (Angelina College) and Hudson (Alvin College) both came to Sam Houston as junior college transfers. Braeden is a three-year letterman for the Bearkats.
Andreas led the Bearkats and ranked fourth in the Southland Conference with a .376 batting average in 2010, totaling 79 hits with 15 doubles, one triple and seven home runs. He finished the season with a 26-game hitting streak, the third longest in Sam Houston State history and the sixth longest in the Southland record book. Andreas totaled 23 multiple-hit games and 11 multi-RBI performances.
For the second season in a row, Riley lead the Southland in total hits with 91. The second baseman posted a ,361 batting average with a team-best 18 doubles and two trriples. A starter in every game this year, Riley led the team with 26 multiple hit performances and produced multi-RBI games 11 times.
Hudson hit .311 for the Kats with 57 hits including 11 doubles, one triple and team-leading nine home runs. He had multiple hit games 19 times this season and multiple RBI performances 11 times.
