Bearkat men?s games streamed for free

The Sam Houston State Bearkat men's basketball team will begin the first of eight Southland Conference home games beginning on Wednesday night against Texas-Arlington.
The Kats are looking to defend their Southland title this season and a big crowd is expected at Johnson Coliseum every time out. However, for fans who can't make it to the game, all Bearkat men's basketball games can be seen for free at GoBearkats.com.
“The basketball program is such a big part of the success for our athletic department and we want as many fans involved as possible,” said SHSU Athletic Director Bobby Williams. “We know not everyone will be able to make every game, so we wanted to make this available for free for the rest of the season.”
Seven of the Kats eight Southland Conference home games can be seen for free on Bearkat Vision. Saturday's game against Nicholls is a Southland TV game and can be viewed online for free at the Southland Conference web site at www.southland.org.
“This is a very exciting team to watch and we want our fans to make a connection with these players,” Williams said. “The only way to make that connection is to watch the games. If fans can't make it to Johnson Coliseum, we want to take the game to them.”
After Wednesday's game against UTA, the next home game to be broadcast on Bearkat Vision will be Jan. 26 against SFA.
Two games, Jan. 22 at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Feb. 14 at McNeese State, will be shared to Bearkat Vision. Those games will still require the monthly subscription fee of $7.95.
The other games available for free this season are: Jan. 29 vs. UTSA, Feb. 5 vs. Southeastern Louisiana, Feb. 12 vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Feb. 23 vs. Northwestern State and March 5 vs. Texas State.
