Stony Brook earns trip to Huntsville

Stony Brook (9-3), down 28-10 late in the third quarter, rallied for 21 unanswered points for 31-28 victory over Albany. The Seawolves had to make an interception in the end zone after Albany had driven to the Stony Brook three-yard line in the game's final seconds.
Stony Brook leads FCS football with 39.64 points per game while the Bearkats of Sam Houston are number two with 39.58 points. The No. 1 ranked team in the nation and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division I playoffs will host No. 22 Stony Brook at 2 p.m. next Saturday Dec. 3.
Running back Brock Jackolski scored all three of the touchdowns in the Seawolves' 21-point rally. The tallies came on an 11-yard run, a 55-yard pass from quarterback Kyle Essington and a six-yard run.
Essington completed 12 of 24 passes for 268 yards.
Sam Houston State stands as the only unbeaten team in FCS football this season, going 11-0. The Bearkats rolled to the Southland Conference championship with a 7-0 league mark.
Tickets for the NCAA Division I Football Playoff games at Bowers Stadium may be purchased now online at www.gobearkats.com/tickets . The Bearkat athletic ticket office in the Ron Mafrige Fieldhouse at Bowers Stadium is open this week through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The ticket office will be open Monday through Friday Nov. 28 through Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ticket prices are $25 for reserved chairback seats, $20 for bleacher reserved and $15 for general admission seats. The SHSU athletic ticket office telephone number is (936) 294-1729.
Sam Houston State students may purchase NCAA Division I playoff tickets for the discounted price of $5 thanks to the contributions of local Huntsville and Conroe area business supporters. There are no free admissions to the playoff games due to NCAA rules. The $5 student tickets are on sale at the ticket office Monday through Friday and at the mall in front of the Lowman Student Center Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
