Back on the practice field

The Bearkats took the field at practice on Monday with the same goal they've had coming into every week this season: Go 1-0 this week.
But now there is an edge to that idea, which is another popular playoff mindset for any team looking to make a run towards a championship.
"It's either win or go home," sophomore wide receiver Richard Sincere said after Monday's practice. "We're trying to go 1-0 for the week. We are trying to get to the national championship, but we try not to look forward to that by skipping over the next game.
"We just want to be 1-0."
Sam Houston has no weaknesses, from offense to defense to special teams.
Each phase of the game has played a crucial role in the Bearkats' success this postseason.
The defense has been its same old self, terrorizing opposing offenses with all-out pressure.
The Bearkats only allowed one touchdown last week against Montana State, but will have their hands full against Montana who took down Northern Iowa 48-10 last Friday.
"They like to run and they like to pass," safety Darnell Taylor said. "They have really good backs and a good receiving core.
"We just have to play like we've been playing. It ain't that much to it."
When asked about adjusting to the shorter week, having been dinged up a little bit in the Montana State game, Taylor admitted that he, as well as some of his teammates are just having to tough it out this week.
"It's been rough," Taylor said. "I know I'm sore today and I'm sure it's a bunch of more guys that are sore. But we have some tough guys on our team so we're going to fight through it."
