Academic All-Southland Bearkats

A senior middle blocker from Huntsville, Black was an All-Southland Conference first team selection. She ranked No. 5 in the league in blocks with a season total of 130, the second most by a Bearkat since SHSU moved up to the NCAA Division I level . Black earned All-tournament in three of the four tournaments in which Kats participated. She completed her career No. 2 all-time in SHSU career blocks
The accounting major who holds a 3.33 overall grade point average is a Dean's List student and has been a member of the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll her entire career at Sam Houston.
A senior setter from Houston Cypress High School, Loving was an All-Southland Conference honorable mention selection this season after starting every match. She finished the year No. 6 in Southland in assists and No. 4 in service aces and totaled double figure digs in nine matches. She completed her career ranked No. 4 in Sam Houston all-time assists.
A finance major with a 3.62 overall grade point average, Loving is Golden Key International honor society member, was listed in Who's Who Among Sutdents in American Universities and Colleges, a Beta Gamma Sigmna (national business honor society) member, a Dean's List student, Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll member and SHSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member.
