Dallas - Josh Wilson's two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning powered Dallas Baptist to a come-from-behind 5-3 non-conference baseball victory over Sam Houston State Tuesday night.
Greg Olson tied the contest 2-2 with an RBI single in the sixth inning and Chris Andreas singled then scored on a error in the seventh frame to give the Bearkats a 3-2 lead.
The loss ended a five-game winning streak for Sam Houston, now 17-9. Dallas Baptist upped its record to 15-9.
Andreas, Ryan Mooney and Doug Oney led the Bearkats the plate, each with two hits.
Mooney gave the Bearkats an early lead as he doubled down the line then scored on an RBI single by Oney for the game's first run.
The Patriots tied the contest 1-1 in the fourth inning after a run-scoring single by Kenny Hatcher. Wilson scored on a Bearkat error in the fifth inning to put DBU up 2-1.
Cody Dickson started on the mound for Sam Houston, giving up three hits, walking four and striking out five in four innings. Michael Oros took the loss in relief.
Sam Houston State returns home to Don Sanders Stadium to host the No. 24 Rice Owls Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The Bearkats then will host a three-game Southland Conference series with Northwestern State beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
