Anticipation is building as Willie Fritz's second season as Sam Houston State head coach approaches.
What an exciting football season last year. Be it the opening night extravaganza against Gardner-Webb with the spectacular fireworks show, to the unforgettable environment created by 24,000-plus fans at Reliant Stadium for the "Battle of the Piney Woods" or the season finale victory over rival Texas State -- it was a great year for Bearkat football.
Bigger and better things are ahead this season with a great group of returning players, a tremendous home schedule and fantastic reasons to be a Bearkat season ticket holder.
The upcoming season is highlighted by a six-game home schedule at Bowers Stadium and the 86th annual "Battle of the Piney Woods" once again being played in Reliant Stadium.
