Tournament, fundraisers complete spring

The Bearkats participated in the Rice Owl spring tournament April 16, playing against Texas A&M, Texas State, Blinn and host Rice University.
"The tournament was full of great competition and a good way to finish off the spring season," head coach Brenda Gray said.
The volleyball squad also hosted its fourth annual golf fundraiser April 30 in an event at Raven Nest Golf Club sponsored by Mitcham Industries.
The tournament featured 12 teams with 46 hole sponsors joining with corporate sponsor Mitcham Industries.
Tournament winners were Jae Chang, Michael Gilbert, Timmy Gray and Nathan Watson shooting a 57.
" This year we added another feature to the event - fully cooked briskets- and we sold 110," Gray said. "Needless to say that was a fun but busy day."
Wednesday May 4 the Bearkats hosted the annual Sam Houston sand volleyball tournament. Nine teams had perfect weather to enjoy some great competition. The "Classics", with team members Ellen Andrews, Aaron Bohm, Matt Cash and Brenda Gray took home the title.
