Southland Goalkeeper of the Week

Sam Houston freshman Kylie Hambleton was named as Southland Conference women's soccer "Goalkeeper of the Week" Tuesday, the league office announced.

Stephen F. Austin Zuri Prince earned the offensive award while her teammate Megan Dunnigan received defensive honors.

Hambleton earned her third shutout of the year Friday night against Nicholls State, posting a 2-0 win for the Bearkats.

The freshman from Katy, Texas (Seven Lakes H.S.), followed that performance by holding Central Arkansas, one of the nation's top scoring offenses, to only one goal in a 2-1 win.

Hambleton faced 22 shots on the week while recording seven saves and allowing only one goal.

The next action for Sam Houston State will be on the road at Southeastern Louisiana Friday night followed by a trip to Oral Roberts Sunday at 1 p.m.
