Soccer wins national academic team award

The Sam Houston State women's soccer team once again has been named as one of the winners of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.
Head coach Tom Brown's Bearkat soccer program has been one of the leaders in academics at Sam Houston since the program's inauguration a decade ago.
During the 2012 spring semester the team produced an overall squad grade point average of 3.18.
The NSCAA Team Academic award recognizes academic performance and is unique in that every team has the potential for receiving the award that carries with it the following benefits:

- Recognizes and rewards all team members for commendable academic performance.
