Final Southland Tuneup Successful

In its final tune-up for the Southland Conference Indoor Championship meet the SHSU women's track and field team earned eighteen top ten finishes and another school record at the Oklahoma Invitational in Norman.
It was another meet and another school record for junior Alyssa Dooley, who outpaced her own record in the 1,000 meter run by more than ten seconds.
Her time of 2:55.80 was also good enough for a second place finish. Freshman Solenn Riou also took fifth in the event (3:18.43).
Also earning a second place finish was sophomore Sunday Foster in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.06 seconds. The finish marked the third time in four meets that Foster has placed in the top three in the 200 meters.
Foster holds one of the fastest 200 meter times in the Southland Conference heading into the indoor championships.
Folashade George took a third runner-up finish for the Kats in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.47. George is also a key part of SHSU's 4x400 meter relay that ranks among the best in the conference.
Jenny Zoch continued her successful senior campaign by placing third in the shot put with a throw of 47-9.75. The mark is more than a foot better than her previous season best that had her ranked third in conference.
Zoch also took seventh in the weight throw with a season best throw of 52-11.
Sabrina Star tied the fastest time of the meet in the 60 meter hurdles at 6.55 seconds, however that run was in the preliminaries. In the finals Starr finished sixth.
Also competing well for Kats were Shelbie Zotyka in pole vault (12-7.5) and Allyson Pettit in long jump (17-11.5). Both athletes took fourth in their respective events.
The SHSU track and field teams will head right back up to Norman, Oklahoma this weekend to compete in the Southland Conference Indoor Championships.
